Beautiful 1968 Chrysler New Yorker hardtop coupe, which is (verifiably) from the first owner in California!
This is an original Californian black plate car with the genuine so-called pink slip title. The original purchase invoice and warranty document from 1968 are still with the car, along with various invoices from over the years. The original owner drove the Chrysler until 2017!
In recent years, this incredibly solid Chrysler has undergone quite a transformation, with work done from front to back, both visually and technically, all with a focus on maintaining originality! It has been completely repainted, and the interior has been almost entirely renewed. All of this was carried out under our supervision in the Netherlands and Germany, so this is not American paintwork.
It drives exactly as you would expect from a top-class car, and the incredibly powerful 440 (7.2-liter!) V8 effortlessly gets the Chrysler moving with surprising agility. Plenty of torque and power, paired with a buttery smooth automatic transmission. The air conditioning works, as does the electrically adjustable seat and windows.
In its time, this was one of the most expensive Chryslers, not counting the Imperial models, and it certainly shows. This massive coupe is a real head-turner and receives nothing but praise for its charming appearance in its original color.
Overview of the main items that have been renewed:
• Completely repainted by a German quality body shop
• Seat upholstery professionally replaced
• Floor covering, carpets, and headliner renewed
• Tires, brakes, and master cylinder renewed
• Automatic transmission was already overhauled in the USA
• Engine inspection and maintenance service
· Carburetor (4-port) overhauled
The Chrysler does not yet have a Dutch registration, but this can be arranged upon request.
